When someone tells you that attending a baby shower or being around anything baby related is too painful and adds more trauma, believe them instead of judging them.

Believe people in pain.

Pushing, guilting or expecting someone trying to process and heal through trauma to enter triggering spaces that are detrimental, adds a new layer of trauma response. Trust people when they tell you they can’t.

Trust people in pain.

Assume that it’s too much right now and give them a compassionate pass and understanding because they are doing their best. They aren’t being selfish they are in pain. Be kind.

Not sure about you, but anxiety seems to be oozing from our pores these days. While herbs are not a catch-all, they are an easy, gentle addition to a whole person approach to mental health.

Check with your provider to see if they are appropriate for you. Interactions can happen between herbs and medications.

Try blending them, steeping their medicinal parts in freshly boiled water x 10-15 minutes, and enjoying them as a tea. ☕️ The aroma is quite lovely and the ritual of pausing with a warm drink in hand is an added benefit. They are also available as liquid tincture and encapsulated.

This excerpt from the poem ‘Starting to Stop’ by Kai Siedenburg was shared with me by my friend, Lynn @fullcircleoflove , in our Slow Stitch class.

The words genuinely touched my heart. They articulated a desire for freedom from ALL.THE.THINGS., all the doing. It made an offering to BE in resonance with what speaks to us on a deeper level, to make meaning of a fuller, more visceral purpose.

And, of course, ‘Releasing My Inner Puppy Off Her Leash’ is perfection. We all have loads to learn from our happiest companions…

Let's get to know a little more about this chemical soup...⁣

While there are MANY naturally-occurring toxic environmental chemicals such as lead, mercury, arsenic, etc., there are about 150,000 human-made chemicals worldwide. I say '𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵' because an accurate count isn't possible. Policies regarding production, use, and reporting differ from one country to another.⁣
⁣
In the United States, there are currently 86,000+ registered chemicals. Of those, 62,000 were grandfathered in and 𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘶𝘮𝘦𝘥 to be safe when the Toxic Substances Control Act passed in 1976.⁣
⁣
However, of the total 86,000+ chemicals, less than 200 have genuinely been tested for safety. 🤯⁣
⁣
If your jaw just hit the floor, gently pick it up! I know. That's how I felt too. 🤦🏻‍♀️⁣
⁣
Unfortunately, chemicals are innocent until proven guilty in the U.S., which means they can be produced and consumed by the public without ever being 3rd party tested.⁣
⁣
This chemical overload is a serious problem for fertility. Many of these chemicals are directly toxic to the reproductive organs, eggs, and sperm or act as Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals (EDCs) and turn hormonal balance inside out. ⁣
